Terms of service
The agreement between you and us. No hidden clauses: what you most want to read is marked as such.
In force since
1. Who provides the service
| Provider | Juan Camilo Ortiz Serna |
| Address | Calle 47 Sur # 64D - 92, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia |
| Contact | hola@raudela.com |
By using raudela.com you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.
2. What Raudela is
Raudela is a set of web tools for working with files, organised into three applications:
- Raudela PDF — documents
- Raudela Media — audio and video
- Raudela Images — images
Many tools work without an account. Others require signing in, and some are reserved for the paid plan.
2.1 Two processing modes
Every tool states visibly which one it uses:
- 🟢 Local — it runs in your browser. Your file is not sent to any server.
- 🔵 Cloud — the file is uploaded, processed and automatically deleted within a maximum of one hour.
The detail is in the privacy policy.
We reserve the right to change a tool's mode where technical reasons or the quality of the result make it necessary. If a tool moves from local to cloud, the indicator on the page will reflect that before you use it.
3. Your account
- It is created by signing in with Google or Microsoft. We do not manage passwords.
- You are responsible for the activity that takes place in your account.
- You must be at least 14 years old to use the service.
- One person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to get around the free plan's quotas is grounds for suspension.
- You can delete it at any time from the settings, without giving reasons.
4. Plans, credits and payments
4.1 Plans
| Plan | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Free | Local tools with no limit on runs. Limited quota of cloud operations. File size and batch limits |
| Pro | Expanded quota of cloud operations, large batches, higher size limits and exclusive tools |
The specific prices and quotas for each plan are those published on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
4.2 How credits work
Cloud operations consume credits according to their compute cost. Local tools consume no credits, because they do not use our infrastructure.
When an operation is launched, an estimate of credits is reserved, and it is settled on completion according to actual usage:
| What happens | What happens to the credits |
|---|---|
| The operation finishes successfully | Actual usage is charged |
| It fails through our fault (infrastructure error, outage, timeout) | They are returned to you in full |
| You cancel it, or the input file is corrupt | What was used up to that point is charged |
Credits renew each billing period and do not roll over from one period to the next.
4.3 Who charges you: Paddle
This is important and worth reading.
Subscriptions are processed through Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record. In practical terms:
- Paddle is the legal seller of your subscription, not us.
- The charge on your bank statement will appear under the name Paddle.
- Paddle issues the invoice and handles whatever VAT or sales tax applies in your country.
- The transaction is also governed by Paddle's terms.
- We never have access to your card details at any point.
4.4 Renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, unless you cancel beforehand.
- You can cancel whenever you like from the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: you keep Pro access until that date.
- Cancelling does not delete your account. You move to the Free plan.
4.5 Refunds
If the service does not work as described, write to us at hola@raudela.com and we will sort it out.
Refunds are handled in accordance with Paddle's policy as legal seller and with whatever consumer legislation applies to you, including —for consumers in the European Union— the right of withdrawal on the terms laid down by law.
The full procedure —how to ask, who executes the credit, what happens to your credits and how it differs from cancelling— is in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
4.6 Price changes
We may change prices. If you have an active subscription, we will give you at least thirty (30) days notice and the new price will only apply from the next renewal. You can always cancel before then.
5. Your files are yours
You keep all rights over the files you process. We acquire no ownership of them.
You grant us only the technical licence strictly necessary to carry out the operation you asked for: receiving the file, processing it and returning the result to you. That licence ends when the file is deleted, within a maximum of one hour.
We do not use your files to train artificial intelligence models. We do not share them with third parties. We do not sell them. No exceptions.
With local tools none of this ever comes to apply, because the file never leaves your machine.
5.1 What you declare when processing a file
By processing a file you represent and warrant that:
- You are its owner or you hold the licence, authorisation or legal basis needed to process it in the way you are doing.
- If it contains other people's personal data, you are entitled to process it and to instruct us to process it on your behalf, on the terms of section 3.5 of the privacy policy.
- It does not infringe third parties' copyright, trade marks, trade secrets or image rights.
- It contains no malware and has not been crafted to exploit a vulnerability in our systems or in whoever receives the result.
Raudela is a tool files pass through, not an editor and not a custodian. You choose the file and the operation; we carry out exactly what you asked for on what you handed us.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Raudela to:
- Process illegal content, content that infringes someone else's copyright, or child sexual abuse material.
- Forge documents or impersonate another person.
- Distribute malware or attempt to run malicious code through crafted files.
- Attack the service: abusive automation, circumventing usage limits, reverse-engineering the quota mechanisms, or any attempt to degrade how it works for other users.
- Resell the service or embed it in a product of your own without written authorisation.
- Create multiple accounts to get around the free plan's quotas.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable we will warn you first; in serious cases, or where third parties are at risk, suspension may be immediate.
6.1 We do not monitor what you process
We do not review, moderate or pre-inspect the contents of files. We could not do so without contradicting everything else this document promises, and with local tools it would simply be impossible: the file never reaches us.
The fact that we do not monitor it does not entitle you to breach this section. We act when we have actual knowledge of unlawful use —through a report, a request from a competent authority or an automated abuse detection— and in that case we may suspend the account and, where the law requires it, report the matter.
7. Document signing
Read this section if you are going to use the signing tool. What follows has real legal consequences.
7.1 The signature we offer, and only that one
Raudela offers a single type of signature: the simple electronic signature, free and executed entirely in your browser. It consists of adding to the document an image, a stroke drawn with the pointer or a piece of text representing your signature, embedded into the page content.
- It is an electronic signature within the meaning of Colombia's Law 527 of 1999 and Decree 2364 of 2012, and of the eIDAS Regulation in the European Union.
- It is valid and admissible as evidence.
- It carries less evidentiary weight: if someone disputes its authorship, it is for whoever relies on it to prove that it is genuine.
- It embeds no digital certificate and no timestamp, and therefore does not cryptographically verify who signed or when.
7.2 What we do not offer
We do not issue, broker or manage digital certificates, and we provide no certified digital signature, advanced signature or qualified signature service. Nor do we act as a certification authority or as a trust service provider.
7.3 Warning
A simple electronic signature is not a "certified digital signature". We do not describe it as one, and you should not assume that it is.
If you need a signature with a stronger legal presumption —contracts of significant value, procedures before public bodies, documents you expect may be challenged— Raudela is not the right tool: go to an accredited certification authority.
It is your responsibility to determine what level of signature your particular case requires. We do not provide legal advice.
8. Service availability
We work to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. There may be interruptions due to maintenance, incidents or causes beyond our control.
We may modify, suspend or withdraw particular tools. If we withdraw a tool you were using regularly and you are on the Pro plan, we will give you reasonable notice.
Always download your results. Files are deleted automatically within a maximum of one hour and there is no backup copy: if you did not download it, we cannot recover it.
Raudela is not a storage or backup service, and must not be used as one. Always keep your original files: we are the place they pass through, not the place they live.
9. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is". Although we take care over the quality of the result, we do not guarantee that every conversion, compression or transformation will produce exactly the result you expected for every possible file.
Always check the result before using it for anything important, and keep the original file.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to it. For free plan users, that amount is zero.
We are not liable for data loss arising from not having downloaded your results in time, nor for indirect damages or loss of profit.
None of the above limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor does it affect the rights consumer legislation grants you as a consumer.
9.1 Third-party claims
If a third party brings a claim against us over a file you processed —for copyright infringement, for improper processing of personal data, or for any other reason attributable to the content or to the use you made of it— it falls to you to take on that claim and to hold us harmless from the damages, costs and reasonable defence expenses arising from it.
This does not apply where the claim originates in a breach by us of these terms or of the privacy policy. And if you are a consumer, it applies only to the extent permitted by the mandatory consumer protection legislation of your country of residence.
10. Intellectual property
The software, the design, the Raudela brand and the site's contents belong to us or to our licensors.
These terms grant you no rights over the brand or over the software, beyond the right to use the service as provided for here.
We use free software components, whose licences are respected and publicly listed in the project repository.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like.
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if your use puts the service or other users at risk, or if a legal obligation requires it.
If we close your account without any breach on your part and you have an active subscription, we will refund the unused pro-rata portion of the period paid for.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change them. If the change is substantial, we will give you at least thirty (30) days notice by email —if you have an account— and through a visible notice on the site.
Continuing to use the service after they take effect means you accept them. If you do not accept the new terms, you can cancel and delete your account.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Colombian law, and any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Medellín, Colombia.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection legislation, the above does not deprive you of the protection granted by the mandatory provisions of your country of residence, nor of the possibility of going to the courts of that country.
